By using FindAnyItem, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

  • Device location (used for seasonal services and language support)
  • Location names you manually enter for organizing boxes

  • App interactions (features used, time spent)
  • Device information (model, OS version, app version)
  • IP address and approximate location (for analytics)
  • Crash logs and error reports

1.5 Subscription and Payment Data

  • Subscription tier (Free, Pro, Premium)
  • Purchase history (managed by Apple/Google, not stored by us)
  • AI scan usage and limits

2. How We Use Your Information

  • AI API: AI-powered item recognition (photos are processed in real-time and immediately discarded - we do not store any photos)
  • Google Cloud Vision: Image analysis for QR codes
  • Apple/Google: Payment processing (subscription management)
  • Analytics Tools: Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics (anonymized data)

3.2 Legal Requirements

  • Law enforcement or government agencies (if required by law)
  • Compliance with subpoenas, court orders, or legal processes

3.3 Business Transfers

In case of merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may transfer to the new owner.

5. AI and Photo Processing

We do not store any photos or images.

5.1 AI Item Recognition

  • When you use the camera feature, photos are sent to our AI API for item identification
  • Photos are processed in real-time and immediately discarded
  • We do not store photos on any servers - neither ours nor external
  • Only the text results (item names) from AI analysis are stored as part of your inventory

5.2 Your Control

  • You can opt-out of AI features by manually typing item names instead of using the camera
  • You can delete any item data from your inventory at any time

6. Data Retention

  • Account Data: Retained while your account is active
  • Inventory Data: Retained until you delete it or your account
  • Usage Analytics: Retained for up to 26 months
  • Photos: Not stored - processed in real-time and immediately discarded
  • Backup Data: Deleted data may remain in backups for up to 90 days
  • Legal Requirements: Some data may be retained longer if required by law

7. Your Privacy Rights

You have the following rights:

  • Right to Access: Request a copy of your data (export feature in Account screen)
  • Right to Rectification: Correct inaccurate data through the App
  • Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): Delete your account and all data
  • Right to Data Portability: Export your data in JSON format
  • Right to Object: Opt-out of analytics or advertising
  • Right to Withdraw Consent: Revoke permissions at any time
  • Right to Lodge a Complaint: Contact your data protection authority

California Residents (CCPA) Additional Rights

  • Right to know what data is collected
  • Right to know if data is sold or shared
  • Right to opt-out of data sales (we do not sell data)
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights

8. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures:

  • Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Encryption at rest (Firebase Cloud Storage)
  • Secure authentication (Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In)
  • Regular security audits
  • Access controls and authentication
  • Secure cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud)

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States, where our cloud service providers operate.

These transfers are protected by:

  • Google Cloud's data processing agreements
  • Standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission
  • Adequate security measures as required by GDPR and other laws

10. Cookies and Tracking

The mobile App uses:

  • Local Storage: To cache data for offline use
  • Analytics SDK: Firebase Analytics for usage statistics
  • Advertising ID: For personalized ads (Free tier, can be disabled)

You can control tracking through device settings (Limit Ad Tracking on iOS, Opt out of Ads Personalization on Android).

11. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at owner@findanyitem.com. We will delete such data promptly.

12. Advertising

Free tier users may see advertisements provided by Google Mobile Ads.

Advertisers may collect:

  • Device advertising ID
  • IP address
  • App usage data

You can opt-out of personalized advertising:

  • iOS: Settings > Privacy > Advertising > Limit Ad Tracking
  • Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization

Pro and Premium subscribers do not see advertisements.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:

  • Posting the new Privacy Policy in the App
  • Updating the "Last Updated" date
  • Sending an email notification (for significant changes)

Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
