How to permanently delete your FindAnyItem account and data

⚠️ Recommended First: Export Your Data

Before deleting your account, we strongly recommend exporting your data. This allows you to keep a backup of all your inventory information for your records.

Export Your Data First

To export your data before deletion:

  • Go to the Account screen in the app
  • Tap "Export Data" in the Data Management section
  • A JSON file containing all your boxes, items, and locations will be generated
  • Save the file to your preferred location

Prerequisites

  • You must be logged into the FindAnyItem app
  • Ensure you have exported any data you wish to keep (see above)

Step-by-Step Instructions

Open the Account Screen

From the Home screen, tap the menu icon (☰) or navigate to your profile. Select "Account" from the menu options.

Scroll to the Danger Zone

Scroll down to the bottom of the Account screen. Locate the red "Danger Zone" section with a warning icon.

Tap "Delete Account"

Tap the red "Delete Account" button. A warning dialog will appear.

First Confirmation

Read the warning message explaining what will be deleted: All boxes and items, All locations, All your data. Tap "Continue" to proceed, or "Cancel" to abort.

Type Confirmation

A second dialog appears with a text field. You must type the following exactly (in uppercase letters):

Type this confirmation text exactly:

DELETE MY ACCOUNT

The app automatically converts your input to uppercase.

Confirm Deletion

After typing the confirmation text exactly, tap "Delete Forever". The app will process the deletion (a loading spinner will appear).

Completion

Once complete, you will see a green confirmation message: "Account deleted successfully". You will be automatically logged out and redirected to the Login screen.

⚠️ Important Warnings

Before You Delete:

  • Irreversible: This action cannot be undone.
  • Data Loss: All boxes, items, locations, and subscription data will be permanently deleted.
  • No Recovery: Deleted data may remain in backups for up to 90 days but cannot be restored to your account.
  • Subscription: Any active subscription will be cancelled.
