Introduction

FindAnyItem ("we", "our", "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and safeguard your personal information when you use our box inventory management mobile application. By using FindAnyItem, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: Email address (from Google/Apple Sign-In), User ID, display name and profile photo (optional).

Inventory Data: Box names, descriptions, locations, item names, descriptions, photos, QR codes, and search history.

Photos and Media: Photos you take for item recognition (sent to Google Gemini API for processing).

Usage Data: App interactions, device information, IP address, and crash logs.

Subscription Data: Subscription tier (Free, Pro, Premium) and AI scan usage.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide core services (account management, inventory sync, QR codes, AI recognition), improve the app, communicate important updates, ensure security, and comply with legal obligations.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with service providers (Google Firebase, Google Gemini API, Apple/Google for payments), for legal requirements, or in case of business transfers with your consent.

4. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with Google Services (Firebase, Gemini API, Sign-In) and Apple Sign-In. These services have their own privacy policies which we recommend you review.

5. AI and Photo Processing

When you use the camera feature, photos are sent to Google Gemini API for item identification. Photos are processed in real-time and not permanently stored by Google Gemini. You can opt-out by manually typing item names.

6. Data Retention

Account and inventory data is retained while your account is active. Usage analytics are retained for up to 26 months. Deleted data may remain in backups for up to 90 days.

7. Your Privacy Rights

You have the right to: access your data (export feature in Account screen), correct inaccurate data, delete your account and all data, export your data in JSON format, and opt-out of analytics or advertising.

California Residents (CCPA): You have additional rights including the right to know what data is collected, opt-out of data sales (we do not sell data), and non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights.

8. Data Security

We implement encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest (Firebase Cloud Storage), secure authentication, and regular security audits. However, no method of transmission is 100% secure.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

11. Compliance

This Privacy Policy is designed to comply with GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, POPIA (South Africa), COPPA, and App Store requirements.

IMPORTANT: By using FindAnyItem ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using FindAnyItem, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and all applicable laws. We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If between 13-18, parental consent is required. You may not use the App if prohibited by law or previously terminated.

3. Account Registration

You must create an account using Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In, provide accurate information, maintain account security, and notify us of unauthorized access. You are responsible for all activities under your account.

4. Services Provided

FindAnyItem provides: Box Inventory Management, QR Code System, AI-Powered Item Detection (via Google Gemini API), Location Management, Search Functionality, Smart Suggestions, and Data Export. Service availability may vary by subscription tier.

5. Subscription Tiers

Free: Limited boxes, 10 AI scans/month, mobile only, ad-supported.

Pro: 50 boxes, 100 AI scans/month, no ads, priority support.

Premium: Unlimited boxes and scans, web access, all features, premium support.

6. Payment and Billing

Subscriptions are processed via Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Auto-renewal occurs unless canceled 24 hours before renewal. No refunds for partial periods. Refunds are managed by Apple/Google per their policies.

7. User Responsibilities

You agree to use the App lawfully, not upload illegal or offensive content, not attempt to hack or reverse-engineer the App, not scrape data without permission, and not impersonate others.

8. Intellectual Property

The App, its content, and features are owned by FindAnyItem and protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of your content but grant us a license to process and store it for service provision.

9. AI Features Disclaimer

AI recognition is provided "as-is" with no guarantee of accuracy. We are not responsible for errors in AI identification. Photos sent to Gemini are processed per Google's terms.

10. Disclaimers and Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, accuracy of AI recognition, compatibility with all devices, or data integrity. We recommend regular data exports as backups.

11. Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for lost data, AI recognition errors, service interruptions, or third-party actions. Total liability is limited to amounts paid in the last 12 months or $100, whichever is less.

12. Termination

By You: Delete your account anytime through the Account screen (permanently deletes all data).

By Us: We may suspend accounts for Terms violations, fraud, legal requirements, or App discontinuation.

Upon termination, data will be deleted within 90 days.

13. Dispute Resolution

Disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration except for intellectual property claims or small claims court. Class action waiver applies—all disputes must be resolved individually.

How to Delete Your Account in the App

Account deletion must be done through the FindAnyItem app. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Open the Account Screen

From the Home screen, tap the menu icon (☰) and select "Account" from the menu options.

Step 2: Scroll to the Danger Zone

Scroll down to the bottom of the Account screen. Locate the red "Danger Zone" section with a warning icon.

Step 3: Tap "Delete Account"

Tap the red "Delete Account" button. A warning dialog will appear.

Step 4: First Confirmation

Read the warning message explaining what will be deleted (all boxes, items, locations, and data). Tap "Continue" to proceed.

Step 5: Type Confirmation

A second dialog appears with a text field. You must type DELETE MY ACCOUNT (in uppercase letters) to confirm.

Step 6: Confirm Deletion

After typing the confirmation text, tap "Delete Forever". You will see a green confirmation message and be logged out.
